This report outlines the likely costs and returns to an investor in an H2Ocean aquaculture system at any one of the three selected sites. One of the main problems in preparing a financial analysis of this kind that it has to be based on cost and revenue values determined at one point in time whilst in aquaculture, as in many other primary industries, such costs and revenues can change markedly within very short time periods due, for instance, to over or under-production, changes in commodity prices, the general economic climate etc.. Hence whilst this written report should, for the immediately foreseeable future, give such an investor a reasonable overview of the investment opportunity presented by the H2Ocean system, the analysis should clearly be updated and reviewed at regular intervals to account for changes in costs and market prices and, indeed, to changes in the technology behind the design of the aquaculture system. To this end the partners who have been involved in producing this report will retain the various financial spread sheets that were used in its preparation in order to facilitate its rapid updating for any potential future investor.

This document describes the main procedures for operating the three H2Ocean aquaculture systems, covering both the general aspects of running such a unit within an offshore energy platform and the management and integration of the individual fish, shellfish and seaweeds units. The document will highlight the basic procedures used in operating an aquaculture production system for all of the species to be cultured and concentrate more on describing where and how these procedures may need to be modified given the offshore location, the presence of the energy platform and the fact that the H2Ocean system has been developed around the concept of integrated multi-trophic aquaculture for which systems no standard overarching operating procedures yet exist.
